introduction

The design for the new community centre in Okana is inspired by the local Acacia Tree. It is a popular meeting point for all community members to chat and discuss. The architects translated the culture of the community to gather under trees and the characteristics of the Acacia tree into an architectural roofscape - a pilot building principle suitable to be applied in other locations than Okana, yet able to be modified by individual spaces underneath.
