The REM-island is a former Radio and TV broadcast station that was dismantled in 2004. Since 2011, it is renovated and towed to the harbor of Amsterdam where it is placed back on stilts. Today, it hosts a restaurant and offices.
The structure was towed by boat to its current location. Built as one of the first structures on sea of type, prototyping for later oil rigs, it can be seen as an important piece of heritage for marine engineering.
