This place was originally an old abandoned piggery, but now a place for Christian fellowship (worship service) after reconstruction. Hoping to draw attention of the church's existing cultural heritage, we invite the locals and church members to collaborate with us in design and construction.
During the Japanese-ruled-period, Christianity entered Wenzai Village. In that age of hunger , a rammed-earth house or a house’s courtyard could be the place for worship service.
More than ninety years later, this spring we celebrate the reconstruction of our old piggery, which becomes a place for fellowship, praying and relaxing. We hope people who come here can see the life traces of our ancestors from the old recycled building materials, and remember the good old memories in the village. Climbing up an old wooden ladder, you will see the old courtyard house, our former church, and also the beautiful sunset over the fish farm.
“The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner. This is Jehovah's doing; It is marvelous in our eyes .Psalms 118:22-23” Every brick and tile from the ruins played an important role while building the prayer house. People may despise it before, but eventually its purpose will surprise everyone.
