Translating knowledge into practice is my ultimate career goal. In my capacity as a cultural anthropologist studying rural poverty issues over the past ten years, I have seen the importance of not only treating people as our study target, but treating them in a humane and dignified way. Armed with such a vision, ten years ago, I established an NGO in Nepal called ‘Future Village’. The main objective of this project was to improve the livelihoods of Nepal’s rural population through education, healthcare and agriculture.
